Introduction into Ferdinand de Saussure's Theory of Semiotics Analysis
Ferdinand de Saussure is a Swiss linguist whose work built the foundation of many linguistic theories. Ferdinand's theory was that a sign is made of two parts the signifier and the signified. The objective of this preliminary exercise is to have an understanding of Ferdinand's theory of semiotics and I created three slides illustrating the title, theory and the key terms. for the design decisions. I added images of Ferdinand de Saussure to show the importance of him and engaging my audience. For the contributions i did this preliminary exercise alone. For the importance of his theory the theory is important when analyzing film because it lets you go deeper into the meaning in the film and an example of this is a movie i recently watched called Deadpool and wolverine the sign to this movie is Deadpool and wolverine, the signified is that Deadpool finds a different time variant and that wants to kill him and he works with wolverine to stop him, and the signifier is the movie
